-2/3x + 5 = 20 - x

subtract 5 from each side

-2/3 x = 15 -x

add x to each side

-2/3 x +x = 15

get a common denominator of 3 for the x terms

-2/3x + 3/3 x =15

combine like terms

1/3 x = 15

multiply by 3 on each side

x = 45

Answer: x=45
