1) shoreline erosion
2)coastal flooding
3) water pollution
4) sea level will rise due to land sinking
5) higher risk of flooding in cities, inhabited islands, and tidal wetlands
6) increasing salinity of ground water making it undrinkable without desalination, and harming aquatic plants and animals
