The length of a rectangle is 3 centimeters less than its width. What are the dimensions of the rectangle if its area is 130 square centimeters?

130 = l*(l+3)

130 = l^2 + 3l

l^2 + 3l - 130 = 0

(l + 13)*(l - 10) = 0

l = -13, l = 10

length can't be negative, so length is 10cm, height is 13cm
