2(3x−4)=5x(6)

Simplify both sides of the equation.

2(3x−4)=5x(6))

(2)(3x)+(2)(−4)=5x(6)(Distribute)

6x+−8=30x

6x−8=30x

Subtract 30x from both sides.

6x−8−30x=30x−30x

−24x−8=0

Add 8 to both sides.

−24x−8+8=0+8

−24x=8

Divide both sides by -24.

−24x/−24 = 8/−24

x=−13
