Given the system of equations, what is the solution?

x + 2y = 7
x - 2y = -1

Add the 2 equations to eliminate the 2y. We get

2x = 6

x = 3

Plug x = 3 into the first equation:-

3 + 2y = 7
2y = 7 - 3 = 4

y = 2


Answer is x = 3 and y = 2
